Peka-Style Lamb: A Traditional Croatian Delicacy

Peka-Style Lamb Recipe – A Taste of Croatia at Home

Ingredients:

  • 1.5kg lamb shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 800g potatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
  • 3 carrots, cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion, quartered
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, whole
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary and thyme
  • 200ml dry white wine
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Toss all vegetables with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and arrange in a baking dish.
  3. Season the lamb with salt and pepper, place on top of the vegetables, and add herbs.
  4. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 90 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil, pour in the wine, and roast uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, or until the lamb is tender and the edges are golden.
  6. Serve with warm, crusty bread to soak up the delicious juices.
